Management accounting is the internal financial tool that helps you “make better decisions,” distinct from compliance‑focused financial accounting. This service is for businesses that have already established basic bookkeeping and now want to leverage financial data to drive growth and profitability. We deliver in‑depth management accounts and analysis each month, essentially acting as a “virtual finance director” to support your strategic decisions – particularly valuable for fast‑growing online stores and SMEs.

Monthly Management Accounts Preparation and Analysis – Each month we produce a comprehensive set of management accounts, including the three core statements – Profit & Loss (broken down by business line/product/channel), Balance Sheet, and Cash Flow Statement. Crucially, we don’t just report numbers; we explain what they mean and what actions to take. Every report is accompanied by our written commentary covering revenue variances, cost structure changes, margin fluctuations, and any unusual items or trends.

Key Performance Indicator (KPI) Dashboard – We work with you to define the most meaningful KPIs for your business and track them monthly. Common examples include gross and net margin (by product or channel), Customer Acquisition Cost (CAC), Customer Lifetime Value (LTV), Days Sales Outstanding (DSO), inventory turnover, cash conversion cycle, revenue per employee, etc. All KPIs are presented in visual dashboards with trend lines and comparison against targets.

Cost Behaviour Analysis and Cost Control Advice – We classify your costs into fixed, variable, and mixed categories, and calculate contribution margin and break‑even point. Based on this, we provide cost control recommendations – e.g. identifying non‑core expenses to cut, negotiating supplier payment terms, evaluating make‑vs‑buy decisions, etc. We can also set up cost centres and profit centres for departmental or project‑level accountability.

Profitability Analysis and Pricing Optimisation – We calculate the profit contribution of each product, service, or customer segment. By analysing sales mix, discount policies, return rates, and customer acquisition costs, we identify “high‑profit stars” and “low‑profit traps,” and suggest pricing adjustments, product portfolio changes, or review of low‑profit customer retention strategies.

Cash Flow Forecasting and Funding Needs Planning – Based on your business plan for the next 3‑6 months, we build rolling cash flow forecasts showing monthly inflows, outflows, and closing cash positions. If a cash shortfall is predicted, we alert you early and help plan financing options (overdrafts, commercial loans, equity). We also assist in preparing financial projections for business plans to support external fundraising.

Financial Modelling for Key Business Decisions – When you face major decisions – launching a new product line, entering a new market, signing a large supply contract, leasing a new warehouse, hiring key staff – we build financial models to support analysis. This includes Net Present Value (NPV), Internal Rate of Return (IRR), payback period, sensitivity analysis, and scenario planning.
